Chinese Inspired Pond Garden

This site was such a mystery. Arriving here there were so few markers of where anything would be, expect there was a pond. And what a pond it was, with Willows leaning over the water, Lotus in the water, Papyrus and reeds at the banks and a small island in the middle, it was such a blank canvas full of opportunity. Thanksfully, I believe the clients had a fairly similar vision to me, and the journey still continues.

The path meanders around the pond on a boardwalk, and then loops into a small subtropical rainforest (with some of the best Philodendron specimen I have ever seen) where a new board walk crossed the stream that leads out from the pond.

The Torii gates were added to frame and add focal point to where the house would soon be, and as of our most recent visit the house is nearly complete. The sleeper path coming down the hill towards the bridge over the main pond, it's a majestic site.
